There are several entry points to Maligne Canyon. We followed the guide book's advice and were going to hike back up the canyon from further downstream. We parked in a little lot and started hiking. This was taken from the bridge right near the parking lot as we crossed to the trail, which was on the other side.
After hiking about 10 minutes we realized we wouldn't have enough time before dinner to really appreciate the main part of the canyon. It was probably around 4 PM. So we headed the car back up to the main entry. From the main entry point it is only a few steps until you are zig-zagging back and forth over a spectacularly narrow canyon.
Yes, this picture is right side up. The tree has fallen over.
